Werner Duvenhage

Werner Duvenhage joined Energy Fuels in 2026 as Executive Vice President of Heavy Mineral Sands and Rare Earths. He brings more than three decades of leadership experience across the mineral sands, uranium, and broader mining industries, with a proven track record of leading complex operations, developing strategic growth initiatives, and advancing critical mineral projects. His unique combination of operational expertise, technical knowledge, and direct experience with critical mineral feedstocks makes him exceptionally well positioned to lead this important part of Energy Fuels’ business.

Prior to joining Energy Fuels, Werner spent more than a decade with Rio Tinto. He joined the company in 2013 as Managing Director of Rössing Uranium Limited in Namibia before being appointed Managing Director of Richards Bay Minerals in South Africa in 2018. In 2023, his responsibilities expanded when he became Managing Director of Rio Tinto Iron & Titanium (RTIT) Africa Operations, where he oversaw multiple operations and strategic development projects, including the Mutamba mineral sands project in Mozambique.

Werner began his career in the South African mining industry before taking on leadership roles in Namibia’s fishing sector and later returning to mining. Throughout his career, he has held senior positions with both major multinational organizations and junior mining companies, including Johannesburg Consolidated Investments (JCI), Bidvest, Paladin Energy, and Rio Tinto. His broad international experience and deep understanding of the critical minerals value chain will play an important role as Energy Fuels continues to expand its integrated mine-to-magnet strategy.
