Piñon Ridge Mill
The site for the Piñon Ridge Mill was acquired in July, 2007. Energy Fuels immediately implemented a licensing program consisting of data collection for site and environmental characterization. Application was made to Montrose County for a Special Use Permit in July of 2008, and that permit was approved in September of 2009. This site is within 1/4 mile of an existing open pit uranium mine developed in the 1980's by Cotter Corporation and is within sight of a number of recently producing underground mines, also owned and operated by Cotter. Community support for the mill by the citizens of western Montrose County has been extremely strong.
